Recreation and sports are important in the life of children. We strive to bring this healthy aspect of life to the children of Mali in struggling areas. We have seen countless schoolchildren playing soccer with a plastic ball or even a homemade tape-and-cloth ball. They play on dirt fields littered with weeds and animal droppings. Villages lucky enough to have a basketball hoop will play on dirt courts and often cannot afford the wood for a backboard.
